Dont Be Like Beyonce

Beyonce Knowles has warned women not to adopt the maple syrup diet she used to lose weight for an upcoming film role.

The former Destiny’S Child frontwoman lost 20 pounds (nine kilograms) in just 10 days in the run up to filming the part of Dina in the movie Dreamgirls.

And she has come under fire from leading dieticians for revealing how she survived on just maple syrup mixed with water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper - because fans are sure to mimic her.

Dietician Alison Chipperfield, who works with British group Weight Concern, said, “(Maple syrup dieters) will probably end up in hospital, especially people who try it for more than 10 days.”

And Knowles, 24, agrees: “I would never recommend it to anyone unless you are doing a movie and it’s necessary, and you have proper help. There are ways to lose weight healthily if you want to lose weight, but this was for a film” She adds, “It’s great because I look at the movie and I don’t recognise myself - which was the point! The funnest part was putting the weight back on and eating my doughnuts and all the other things, so now I’m back to my body.

“I’m very conscious of being a curvy woman and I’m very happy that I am a curvy woman.”
